Team DASH Financial Technologies

Celebrating a Half Decade of Riding FAR

As a leading options trading technology and execution provider, DASH Financial Technologies, an ION company, is committed not just to delivering high-performance products within the capital markets space, but also giving back to various communities through philanthropy – and autism research is at the top of its list of causes to support. The company has participated in Rides FAR for nearly five years – and the team is just getting started.

“Since my days as a specialist on the floor of the NYSE, I have seen autism affect both friends’ and colleagues’ families,” said Jaclyn Butler, Chief Compliance Officer at DASH. “Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, there was not a great deal of attention drawn to autism. As a member of the NYSE and the Wall Street community, I saw the industry begin to rally around autism charities over time. Since those early days, I have tried to participate in as many fundraising events as possible to help raise awareness.”

DASH already has plans to grow its involvement with Rides FAR and expand its team of riders. Earlier this year, DASH’s Head of Equity Product, Jennifer Fagenson, was appointed to the Rides FAR Board of Directors.

“We are very proud of Jennifer’s appointment and always look to support her on the Rides FAR mission to support the Autism Science Foundation, which does so much to make autism research possible,” said Butler.

As a member of the Rides FAR Board, Fagenson hopes to bring her passion for the mission and help foster an environment that encourages the competitive Wall Street community to come together as one.

“Though there is certainly a fierce rivalry among Wall Street firms, there has always been a strong sense of community as well,” added Butler. “I have been in the industry for nearly 25 years and have seen our community come together for friends, colleagues and charities. Industry professionals tend to be generous with their resources, from financial support to personal time to connections. We may not share trade secrets, but we share the same mission to support worthy causes!”

DASH remains committed to Rides FAR and the mission of the Autism Science Foundation in part because it believes in the science that pushes autism research forward. While raising awareness is important, Fagenson notes that the financial services industry has a duty to drive positive change and be true stewards of this cause.

“This is important because autism touches everyone. That’s why DASH will continue our best efforts to support this cause and the research projects that are so critically needed,” added Fagenson.
